The economic news strongly suggests that the recession which began in 2008 is at or even past its worst phase, and that the same is true for the residential real estate market. While taking comfort from such news, however, we must remember that events have a very long way to go before we will really have a healthy economy again. The Monterey Peninsula has suffered a lot during the last couple of years, but today’s news that local hotel bookings are up after a long period of trending downward is still something to celebrate this Labor Day weekend.
